    High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT combines short periods of intense exercise with short periods of rest. 

    Benefits include:

    • Increased afterburn effect - the greater your intensity, the greater the afterburn effect, the process of burning extra calories long after your workout is over.
    • Helps reduce stomach fat - HIIT creates a metabolic environment that stimulates a higher proportional release of abdominal fat.
    • Improved Vo2 Max - doing HIIT will result in significant improvements in VO2 max, your body’s max capacity to transport and use oxygen during exercise (a great measure of physical fitness).
    • Burns more total fat compared to endurance training – even when burning a fraction of the calories.
    • Builds muscle while losing fat – HIIT increases lean body mass, whilst simultaneously reducing total body fat. The additional muscle then increases your resting metabolic rate so that you burn extra calories at all times of the day!
